The Miami Toros and
Kendall Ice Arena are proud to announce that one
of their own has been selected to play for the
U17 USA National Team Development Program. He
will be playing for the upcoming 2015-2016
season and will compete in the USHL, which is
the top junior league in all the US.
Randy Hernandez has been
a Miami Toro since he was a Mite. He has played
all the way through Bantam AA, where he was part
of the Bantam team that placed 2nd place at the
National Championships in 2014.
Last season, Randy
played for the U16AAA Florida Alliance and
really started to turn a lot of heads. It
started during a showcase in Dallas where the
Alliance was playing against U16 Dallas-Stars.
The head coach, who is also a regional scout for
the NTDP program, took notice of Randy. He was
then invited to the USA U17 National Team Camp,
which included the top 99 players from all over
the country. Out of 27 forwards that attended
the camp, Randy was one of the 10 chosen players
to be part of the U17 NTDP 2015-2016 season.
This is a great
accomplishment for a kid from Miami, Florida who
has played his entire career with us. All his
hard work and long hours lead up to this amazing
opportunity! The Miami Toros and Kendall Ice
Arena could not be more proud of this young man.
We know Randy will continue to make us all proud
as he moves forward in his career and we wish
him all the best!
